Privacy Policy
Short version: your code never leaves your browser, and we do not sell anything about you.
Last updated October 26, 2026.
Code you write or paste
The PHP Sandbox, the PHP Syntax Checker and the code compatibility checker run PHP inside your browser. The code you type is processed on your device only. It is not sent to our servers, not stored by us and not visible to us. Share links put the code in the part of the address after the # sign, which browsers do not send to web servers.
Website addresses you check
When you use the website PHP version checker, the address you enter is sent to our server so that it can request that site. We keep the result in a short-lived cache for about ten minutes to avoid repeated requests. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes your IP address to deliver the site, protect it from abuse and apply a rate limit. We do not combine checked addresses with any information about who checked them.
Analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics to understand which pages and tools are used, in aggregate. It sets cookies and collects information such as pages viewed, approximate location, device type and referring site. We do not send the code you run or the addresses you check to Google Analytics; we record only that a tool was used. You can block analytics with any content blocker or with Google's opt-out browser add-on, and the tools keep working.
If we show advertising in the future, ad partners may use cookies to show relevant ads. We will update this page and ask for consent where the law requires it before that happens.
Local storage
Your browser caches the PHP runtime files after the first download so that later runs are instant. This cache contains only program files, not your code, and you can clear it at any time in your browser settings.
Data retention
Cached website check results expire after about ten minutes. Server logs kept by our hosting provider for security and abuse prevention are retained for a limited period according to its own policies and then deleted. Analytics data is kept in aggregated form to compare usage over time; it is not linked to your name, email address or any account, because the site has no accounts.
Children
PHP Checker is a general audience developer tool. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Third-party links
Pages on this site link to php.net, documentation and other projects. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which this policy does not cover.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the site handles data, for example by adding advertising or a paid monitoring service, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
Your rights and contact
Because we do not hold personal accounts or the content you work with, there is usually nothing about you for us to access or delete. For any privacy question or request, email hello@phpchecker.com.
